Research-Grade vs Commercial-Grade SARMs

Not all SARMs sold online are equivalent for research purposes. The label "research grade" should mean the compound meets analytical standards sufficient for generating reliable, reproducible experimental data. In practice, quality varies enormously across suppliers.

Low-quality SARMs introduce unknown impurities and synthesis byproducts that can confound results — particularly in cell culture assays where even small amounts of cytotoxic contaminants can produce false-positive or false-negative effects.

Purity Standards

The minimum acceptable purity for research use:

  • ≥98% by HPLC: Reverse-phase HPLC measures the proportion of the target compound in the sample. 98% purity means up to 2% of the sample is unknown impurities. For most in vitro research, this is acceptable. For in vivo studies with sensitive biological endpoints, 99%+ is preferable.
  • Mass spectrometry identity confirmation: HPLC measures purity but not identity. A sample can be 98% pure but be the wrong compound. MS confirms molecular weight matches the expected SARM — essential for research validity.
  • NMR (optional, gold standard): Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy confirms exact structure — used for highest-tier research reference standards.

What a Valid CoA Includes

CoA ElementWhy It MattersRed Flag If Missing
HPLC purity %Quantifies compound proportion in sampleNo purity data = unverified compound
HPLC chromatogramVisual confirmation of purity; shows peak shape and elutionNumber without chromatogram is unverifiable
MS molecular weightConfirms correct compound identityCould be the wrong SARM or a synthesis intermediate
Independent lab nameThird-party validation vs self-certificationSupplier's own lab only = potential conflict of interest
Lot/batch numberTraceability — links your research to specific production batchNo lot number = no traceability
Date of analysisConfirms CoA is recent (not from a different batch years ago)Undated CoA = cannot verify currency

Rainbow Peptide Quality Standards

All Rainbow Peptide SARMs meet the following standards:

  • ≥98% HPLC purity confirmed by independent third-party laboratory
  • Mass spectrometry identity verification with molecular weight confirmation
  • Lot-specific CoA available at time of order — not generic batch certificates
  • Lyophilized powder in sealed glass vials with lot number and For Research Use Only labelling
  • International shipping to US, UK, Canada, Australia, EU and more
